How Can I Help?


The Canadian Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of the men, women and children who live with these debilitating diseases.  We are a volunteer based organization that depends on individuals financial and in-kind contributions and support to achieve our goals.  If you would like to help us to help others please consider the following:

  • Make a Donation - Provide financial support so that we can develop relevant educational and information materials for Canadians and establish and sustain local support groups across the country.
  • Become a Volunteer - Share your experience and knowledge with us by becoming a volunteer, board member or simply someone who can help our organization and support groups grow.  A list of our immediate volunteer needs is always kept up to date. Your contribution can be as big or as small as you need it to be but it will be greatly appreciated.
  • Become a Support Group Leader - There are people across the country who would benefit from talking to others experiencing similar challenges and obstacles.  Many groups started simply with two strangers who share a common illness. All groups have grown to be supportive communities that can provide the emotional support needed to better cope with this illness.  If we have learned anything, this journey is easier to deal with when it is shared.
  • Contribute to the Betty MacGregor Memorial Fund - Betty was one of the founding directors of the Canadian Pemphigus and Pemphigoid Foundation.  She lived with pemphigus vulgaris for over ten years and was a friend and support to many of us.  In January 2010, she passed away suddenly.  In recognition of her contributions and in memory of the beautiful and inspiring person she was, we have established this special fund.  Each year, a special project is undertaken in her name.  If you would like to make a donation, you can do so online through CanadaHelps.org.

We believe that transparency and accountability are essential to our success.  With this in mind, we have joined Imagine Canada’s Ethical Code Program.

The Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code lays out a set of standards for charitable organizations to manage and report their financial affairs responsibly.  By adhering to these standards, we are complying with generally accepted practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars.  This is important because you, our supporters, are entitled to transparency and the greatest impact possible for your investment in us.
